How will GrooveIT! for My Calendars be different from GrooveIT! fo Microsoft Office Outlook calendars features?

Posted on 5/7/2008 1:07:39 PM

Thanks for your question thomas.

GrooveIT! for Outlook allows you to export events from Outlook to Groove. This action can be done manually / "on demand".
Your choose an event, click the "Send to Groove" button and use the wizard to choose in wich workspace and tool you would like to sent this event. In this case, it is an export. There's no update in Groove if you modify or delete your event in Outlook.

On another hand, you can also create a GrooveIT! rule. A rule is a mean to link a Outlook container (calendar, tasks list, email folder...) to a Groove workspace and tool. If you create a link on a calendar, each time you add an event in Outlook, this event is also exported to Groove. Each time you modify an event, it is also updated in Groove. Please note that, at this stage, if you delete an event in Outlook, it is not deleted in Groove.

GrooveIT! for MyCalendars will allow you to have a single consolidated view of several calendars. You will be able to use Outlook calendars and Groove calendars.

Hope that helps

Thank you very much, nice tool!!!

GrooveIT for My Calendars suggestions:
1. Please fix a strange and unstable right mouse button behavior when over event.
2. Kind of "smart" folders would help to handle big number of WSs
3. If it's too hard to implement (2), please make a "show all calendars" box and expand\collapse all box.
4. Please show Calendar Name in "WS_name\Calendar_Name" Format, becouse a standard name for calendar is just Calendar and there are too much Calendars )))

GrooveIT for My Calendars suggestions set 2:
1.Do not show or show in different manner calendar tools already existing in the list and Work Spaces without calendar tools in "Add Calendar" menu tool.
2.Please do some work at event colors concerning visability of calendars . It seems it is better to use backgrownd colors instead of text colors for calendar names.
3.Show, please, workspace names in "add calendar" menu tool and "modify selected item" righ click menu item.
4. Add "open source" and "mark as read\unread" as event right click menu items.
