Issue in GrooveIT for My Calendars

An issue was discovered in GrooveIT! for My Calendars that causes the application to stop running after July the 1st. All releases prior to version 2.0.2.632 may present this issue and we strongly encourage you to upgrade.

To check which version is currently installed on your computer, go to: "Control Panel > Program and Features" window (if using Vista) or "Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs" window if using Windows XP. Locate GrooveIT! for My Calendars item, version number is mentioned along the name.

If your version number is below 2.0.2.632, you need to install a new version: Please download the new installer from GrooveIT! web site. Installation can be done over previous one and will let your settings and license key unmodified.

You can search easily into yours workspaces and Groove files with GrooveIT! Advanced Search.

2. Advanced search available:

Access GrooveIT! Advanced Search from GrooveIT! for My Documents main interface or from Word, Excel and PowerPoint ribbon.
You can search for and find your documents in the Groove files tool, and access your Groove Workspaces:

3. Addins WEP*

How to create a new workspace from within GrooveIT! for Microsoft Office Outlook when publishing an email or another Outlook item?

Here is the process to follow up:

Select an Outlook item (email, appointment, task, contact, RSS feed) in Microsoft Office Outlook
Click on “Send to Groove” button
Choose your Groove identity
Click on “New…” button in the “Workspace” screen
Choose a name for your workspace
Select contacts you would like to invite to join
Click on “next” for customize invitations
A last click on “next” : The workspace is created and invitations are sent. A new tool dedicated to your Outlook items is also added to the new workspace.

GrooveIT ! for Outlook V1.0 users : Update your Groove Email and Contact tools to enjoy release 2.0 improvements

If you are a GrooveIT! for Outlook V1.0, you already know (and use) Groove Email and Contact tools provided with GrooveIT! to easily manage your published emails and contacts. GrooveIT ! for Outlook V2.0 now provides new Groove tools to manage Tasks and RSS articles. The Email and Contact tools have also been improved.

Here is the upgrade process for these tools. You will not lose any of your data during the upgrade process. The existing Email and Contact tools will be automatically updated and will continue to be effective. All you have to do is enjoy the improved features.

From Groove launchbar, create a new “template”workspace. Choose the template called “GrooveIT! space for Emails” (or “GrooveIT! space for Contacts”) and name it “temp space”
Open the workspace, and navigate to the Groove 1.0 Email tool or Contact tool, you need to migrate. Check the GrooveIT! version by clicking “About this tool” in the “Help” menu. The version number should be “1.0.0.0”
We advise you to backup data stored in the tool before migrating as a precaution .... Click “Export all Entries” in the “File” menu, then “Binary XML”. A window pops up. Choose “Export all entries in tool”. Choose a filename and click OK.
In the « File » menu, click « Replace Design ». A window pops up. Choose the workspace created at the beginning of this process (“temp space”). Choose “GrooveIT! Emails » (or « GrooveIT ! Contacts ») and click OK. A confirmation window pops up. Click « OK »
You should now have a V2.0 tool. To check, click on “About this tool” in the “Help” menu. The version number should be “2.0.0.0”

Nota Bene : This migration process works for both Groove Virtual Office and Microsoft Office Groove 2007. Nevertheless, there are some minor differences in the menu labels between these 2 versions of Groove.

How to deal with content in existing directories when you create a GrooveIT! rules?

You have created a folder in Outlook to store some of your e-mails. You decide to create a GrooveIT! rule upon this existing folder in order to automatically transfer to Groove any email you will move to this folder. See also the video: How-To : Create a GrooveIT! rule on an emails folder.

You can do the same for already existing emails. When creating the GrooveIT! rule, select “options” in the last window of the assistant, and tick the “Run this rule now !” box.

In this way you not only create the rule, but you also immediately apply it to all existing e-mails.

We advise current users of GrooveIT! for Microsoft Office Outlook 1.0 to upgrade to release 2.0 and benefit from all new features and enhancements (see list here). The upgrade is free of charge !

When upgrading, there are two possible scenarios:

1- You have purchased a license for GrooveIT! release 1.0

Download and install release 2.0

If you have already activated your licenses, there’s nothing else you need to do. Release 2.0 is ready for use!
If you have not activated your licenses yet, you will need to open the license manager screen and activate GrooveIT! release 2.0 by using your release 1.0 license number. The license number will be accepted and converted into a release 2.0 license.

2- You are using a GrooveIT! 1.0 trial license

Download and install release 2.0. Your current trial license will be invalid, but you can request a new trial license, enabling you to try the new release for 10 days!
